Kinder Joy x Jurassic World
We were asked by Fererro to create a 15 second ad and campaign showcasing their new product release for Kinder Joy, the concept had to make the product look both premium and true to their appearance whilst appealing to a range of ages.
Our target audience is primarily children and Jurassic World fans with a slight focus towards the “fanatics” who would buy these to add to their collection. We landed on a concept called “They’re Alive” which focussed on a CGI sequence, bringing the dinosaurs into our landscape with a hint of imagination and fun.
For this project I was the creative lead, ranging from initial concepts, storyboarding through to the shoot and product shoot. This project was insightful for myseft as a multidisciplinary designer as it covered every discipline from sketch artists, 3D artists, film crew and rollout.

When we were initially briefed by Ferrero we kept our ideation broad to pitch back with a variety of concepts both within their brief and also pushing the boundaries of previous creatives. Each route had a story and strategy to where it had come from and why it fits their audience.
One of their favourite concepts was "Theyre Alive" -
A fun, immersive CGI execution to transport our viewers into the universe of Jurassic World in a unique, relatable way. Told through the eyes of our Funko Dino’s being “born” into our world through the opening of the Kinder Joy eggs, we join them on their adventure through the jungle. As they venture through the seemingly familiar environment, we realise they are closer to home that you think. With our bright pops of colour from our toys contrasting the green earthy tones and recognizable household items, our execution heroes the power of a child’s imagination and how our miniature toys experience the world.
Once a route had been selected we developed our storyboard to the feedback and weaved in the "must haves" into our timings, including product demo and the real life and animation split specifications. On top of this TVC ad we also had to create storyboards and sketched for: Applaydu advert, product photoshoot, styling for the shoot and cutdowns.
Working with our in house 3D team to develop our visual style to reflect the mood board that the client has scene. The desired effect was to have it as realistic as possible to match our real plant pot scene, whilst steal trying to keep a dreamy colour palette and feel.
The Shoot
Along with the concepting and roll out campaign we had to also prep for the shoot which included shot lists, product placement and clothes styling. I was in charge of coming up with the styling for the shoot and how we integrate Jurassic World products into our shots without being overbearing.
